Memories of the Mixed School between 1967 & 1970 [+]
Please share your memories of your time at the Mixed School between 1967 and 1970
I joined St Mary Redcliffe & Temple in 1967 when the school opened. I have to admit that I was a pain to nearly all my teachers. Did make it though through to CSE and on to college for O Levels and A Levels and eventually University. Now I found myself a Deputy Headteacher here in Bangkok and, from September, will move on to Cairo to teach Business and Economics. Would love to hear from anyone from that class - Best wishes to all ex-Redcliffe kids. David Royall.
Lived in St lukes Road next to the park, attended SMR junior, then joined SMRT in 1968 aged 12 and left in 1971 with GSE. Memories are very vague now... only had one visit to headmaster Stan Lowes office for a caning, ouch!. Crazy, but the only name I remember is the bully Kevin Corbet, I mostly avoided his wrath. I wasn't really good academically, bit of a lout... stealing sweets from the small shop up the road. was good in art, we once had a art teacher who drove us out to interesting places in his old Rolls. Have lived in South Africa since 1973, qualified as a Tradesman, now retired, hence the time on my hands.
